"Attica State" is a song by John Lennon. It appeared on his and Yoko Ono's album, Some Time in New York City. It is about the Attica State prison riots. Coincidentally, Lennon's murderer, Mark David Chapman, is housed there on a life sentence.
A live performance of the song at a benefit concert for the families of those killed in the riots, which took place at the Apollo Theater in New York on December 17, 1971, was released on the 1998 John Lennon Anthology box set.
